#00214: June 14 2017 – 4/39

4 out of 4. I’m unstoppable.

The main reason I managed to start doing things is this: I cut down my expectations by 50%.
I used to aim, for example, at reaching that 10,000 steps per day target. Now it’s 5,000.
I wanted to drink 3L of water per day. Now it’s 2L.
“Reading” was on my list, but it was vague. So now one page of a book is considered reading. Articles are included, too.

I expected too much of myself. Now, I cut my expectations into half.
And it’s been going well for 4 days so far.

On a completely different note, my country is still under an economic embargo.
For us – the regular folks, the peasants – the main issue is uncertainty. We just woke up one day and it was there. No one knows why this happened.
Actually, there are multiple reasons, but they depend on where you get your news from. And that’s the problem.

Governments decide, and we live the repercussions. They fart and we inhale.

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors. – Plato

  1. The quote at the end of your post rings so true. Try as I might to pull wool over my own eyes, when I peek out it’s mayhem. I can’t help but wonder if it could be different if I were more involved. But then I shrug and pull the wool back down.

I am doing my best to send some good thoughts your way.
